Elizabeth (Betty) Hahn Chancey received her M.F.A. in Creative Writing at San Diego State University, her M.A. in English and Creative Writing from Hollins University, and her B.A. from Virginia Tech in Fine Arts with a concentration in painting. She also holds a certificate in Documentary Filmmaking from Duke University’s Center for Documentary Studies. Her areas of teaching and research interest include Creativity and the Arts, Women’s Studies, Documentary Film and Political Discourse, and Indigenous Latin American Culture. She serves on the board of Working Films, a non-profit organization that links cutting-edge documentary film with community organizing and activism.
